One of the best live action comedy. Gintama by itself is a work that consolidates a more serious plot with a large portion of parodies and the film takes advantage of this very well, no matter if it's ''realistic'' or ''cosplay'' and that makes the dynamics very good and faithful.

It is incredibly sad to see this fantastic live action have such a terrible score. After reading the critic reviews I'm 100% convinced that none of them have seen any of the source material, be it anime or manga. The Gintama movie is one of the absolute best anime adaptations ever...if not the best. Characters act like their canon counterparts and almost look like them. My only complaint is Kondo. He should've been played by an actor who was significantly more built. Back to the critics taking issue with this movie, Gintama is a freaking parody comedy. It was NEVER supposed to be taken seriously. The fact that the movie had fun with the adaptation makes it all the more pure. Conclusion: This movie was absolutely wonderful, and critics should not spew words from their hairy gorilla butts. (Although that reference likely goes over their heads. 😏)
