Leslie Felperin Guardian The nervy handheld camerawork and natural lighting connect Glory aesthetically to the similarly pessimistic naturalism of Romanian cinema while displaying an even darker, lugubrious Slavic edge. Rated: 4/5 Jan 5, 2018 Full Review Michael Upchurch Seattle Times Stefan Denolyubov, as the linesman, and Margita Gosheva, as his nemesis, are painfully on-target in this Bulgarian satire. Rated: 3/4 Jun 20, 2017 Full Review Ty Burr Boston Globe Grozeva and Valchanov relate their morality play with ... fluid, grimy realism ... Rated: 3.5/4 May 4, 2017 Full Review Jim Ross TAKE ONE Magazine If SLAVA proves anything, it is that corruption doesn't need absolute power: large scale indifference and selfishness can start a deep rot that spreads. Feb 13, 2020 Full Review Alexa Dalby Dog and Wolf Glory is a sophisticated, well-made, all-too-real satire - a chilling contemporary snapshot - that's very well worth seeking out. Rated: 4/5 Aug 27, 2018 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall There's an almost Kafkaesque quality to the odyssey of a simple, honest man who gets caught up in a maze of vile bureaucratic mayhem Rated: 4/5 May 9, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

chris k A very nicely executed drama filled with bitter realism about modern-day Bulgaria and, perhaps, the Balkans in general. Corruption and inequality seem to triumph causing honest people who believe in any kind of fairness or justice to be seen at least as dumb, if not dangerous or manipulable. This only leads towards one direction: the film's finalé cleverly shows that. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review mauro l "Something is rotten even in the state of Bulgaria": Shakespeare already knew it, it is known everywhere and since forever; moreover, with a style steeped in sarcasm and realism, the film is lost in a foregone parable in the results and in the performance. (Mauro Lanari) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review parrish h No good deed goes unpunished. Interesting characters in a often funny story of graft and bureaucracy.
