Adam Nayman Toronto Star If it’s ultimately a less ingenious entertainment than 2016’s “Shin Godzilla”, it’s still preposterously satisfying, never more so than in a climax whose choreography suggests a child playing with their entire toy collection at bath time. Rated: 3.5/4 Jun 17, 2025 Full Review Christina Newland iNews.co.uk The result is a celebration of homegrown courage, with the vastly overpowered citizens fighting to protect the fragile progress of their rebuilt lives and to banish Godzilla back to the depths of the sea. Rated: 5/5 Sep 17, 2024 Full Review Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph (UK) Yamazaki’s screenplay has subtly framed Shikishima as a stand-in for the nation at large, sloughing off macho Imperial dogma from underneath a suffocating shroud of survivor’s guilt. Rated: 4/5 Jun 3, 2024 Full Review Rua Fay Cinemasters An insanely well-made film with astounding special effects and great performances. It's a Godzilla movie made by the country that knows Godzilla best: Japan. Whatever you do, don't overlook this film. Jul 21, 2025 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins There are a few welcome changes to the ordinary Godzilla routines, once again concerning personas with greater development, emotional complications, and moral quandaries, but it still dwells on stock tropes and extremely predictable revelations. Rated: 6/10 Jul 15, 2025 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...the picture, which kicks off with a relatively strong opening, does an effective job of balancing drama with over-the-top monster action...
