David Sims The Atlantic Godzilla himself takes up only a slim chunk of a run time largely devoted to people running around in awe and horror. That is why Godzilla Minus One is a great film rather than merely an impressive feat of monstrous visual effects. Feb 6, 2024 Full Review Dana Stevens Slate It’s the rare kaiju movie that cares this deeply about the inner lives and motivations of the people scurrying out of the way of the monster’s ginormous thudding feet. Jan 9, 2024 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times This prequel, similarly, yokes American imperialism, postwar malaise, survivor guilt and weaponised atomic power to produce the best action film of the year. Rated: 4.5/5 Dec 23, 2023 Full Review Emiliano Basile EscribiendoCine After the forgettable North American versions, it is refreshing to see Godzilla in his own culture and context, where his destructive path has raison d'etre. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 7/10 May 6, 2024 Full Review Casey Chong Casey's Movie Mania A thrilling mix of epic kaiju spectacle and heartfelt drama. Rated: 4/5 May 2, 2024 Full Review Jeffrey Overstreet Looking Closer Remarkable in how it preserves what has always been the sturdiest elements of the franchise. ... In doing so, it leans heavily on Steven Spielberg’s Jaws for inspiration, and a pivotal sequence riffs on Nolan’s Dunkirk without apology. Rated: B Apr 29, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Jaspreet S Amazing film, definitely top 3 in the Godzilla universe. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Constance F Man oh man what a ride this one was. I chanced the trip to Tucson in my van that is edging ever closer to 300,000 miles, and that is about the payoff I got. The plot is masterful, the creature spfx are enormous, and rightly deserved the Oscar it won, and the best part? There are no oxygen destroyers, no fantasy fictitious scientific weapons. Nothing but real life applications such as ship cabling and explosive laden aircraft to employ in their frantic effort to take the monster down. And the cliffhanger of the dorsal fin shaped radiation burn spreading across the female protagonist's neck was the best part. I sincerely hope that there will either be a direct sequel or that Yamazaki is tapped to do another kaiju film. I know I will be watching! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Joseph A Amazing movie, I had to see it twice! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review John First Monster Movie To Make Me Cry Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review Stevie D it's godzilla folks what more can I say Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/28/24 Full Review Sheldon s This movie is unbelievably good ! I was expecting more of a action type of godzilla but in japanese, but the story itself was completely S tier writing. the best movie of 2023 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
