Biollante would not appear in any other film in the Godzilla franchise, perhaps for practical reasons (she's inherently more ephemeral than other kaiju monsters), but she's among the series' most idiosyncratic nemeses.

I actually watched this movie in full and I agree that it is one of the best Godzilla movies to date. It has so much substance and emotion that it offers a very unique perspective on the franchise as a whole.

After a five-year hiatus, Toho revived Godzilla with Godzilla vs Biollante, born from a contest-winning idea by a grieving dentist who imagined a father trying to revive his daughter, leading to the creation of a monstrous rose. The film balances multiple storylines—Cold War tensions, a fictional Arab nation, and psychic experiments—while exploring themes of grief and the dangers of genetic manipulation. Despite modest production values, the visuals impress, Godzilla looks more menacing than ever, and Biollante’s unique design makes their brutal final battle one of the highlights of the Heisei era, cementing this entry as one of the franchise’s best, even though Biollante never returned.
