The maxim states that all that glitters is not gold, and that's certainly true. In the case of Gold, it's more like a shattered disco ball, promising dazzlement but delivering only a few fleeting glints of illumination.

This was a great watch! For some reason, I didn't forsee the geological engineering vibe to this. I got comfortable in my seat and saw the do's and don'ts of the business. This was a Scarface like movie, the rise, fall, rise? of Kenny Wells. I loved him and Micheal Acosta's relationship; their passion for Geology and well money was beyond commendable.

Just watched this last night on a whim. Really solid movie, surprised it didn't do better with audiences. McConaughay was terrific. Better than most of the crap coming out today. I recommend it.
