Maeve I thought it was funny and at some points it got really tense when wrestling Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/26/23 Full Review Steve C Straight forward movie plot. I guess when you seen over 1500 movies during your life, nothing is new anymore. There is nothing new under the sun. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/01/23 Full Review paul b This movie isn't hilarious, but it is amusing. It's not terribly clever, nor is it particularly well written, and you already know how it's going to end. At best, it's stupid fun, which is still fun when you need to give your brain a 90-minute rest. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review bonnie w Loved this movie. It was so entertaining and laugh out loud funny. So this is what a film looks like with a lot of talented actor/comedians. Well done and a fun time for all. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review dave d Mary Holland and Betsy Sodaro play a pair of best friends and their chemistry carries a fairly pedestrian film. I'm not gonna lie, I love movies with little easter eggs in the closing credits! Every once in a while the viewer needs to be kept honest! I had a good time in a familiar and formulaic feature. It feels like an arm wrestling version of the Netflix series GLOW. It's a well-told story, but there are plenty of flaws. Namely, the forced love interests and the cliches. Worth watching. Final Score: 6.7/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Although the story and cinematography leave much to be desired, it’s a fun comedy that stays afloat due to the charms of Holland and Sodaro’s impeccable comedic timing. Angie Han FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It's a nice, cute watch. 90 breezy minutes. May 1, 2021 Full Review John Anderson Wall Street Journal Golden Arm could be interpreted as having a profound feminist message and liberating agenda. Mostly, it's just goofy fun. An antic romp. A briskly paced gag fest. A lot of wrist, no relaxation. Apr 30, 2021 Full Review Greg Carlson Vague Visages Holland and Sodaro are so effortlessly good together, their characters evoking the kind of visual contrast unforgettably rendered by Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Jul 28, 2023 Full Review Grant Watson Fiction Machine It does exactly what it aims to do: it entertains. It does so lightly, and with tremendous charm. Rated: 7/10 Sep 5, 2022 Full Review Steven Warner In Review Online Golden Arm is both over the top and not Over the Top, a surprising delight that firmly stands on its own even as it takes inspiration from an all-timer. Jun 6, 2021 Full Review Matthew Pejkovic Matt's Movie Reviews A winning sports sismance comedy that blends the right amount of sweetness and vulgarity. Rated: 3.5/5 May 8, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
