Upset about moving from the big city to a small town, young Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets his beautiful neighbor Hannah (Odeya Rush). The teen is surprised to learn that Hannah's mysterious father is R.L. Stine (Jack Black), the famous author of the best-selling "Goosebumps" series. When Zach accidentally unleashes the monsters from the fantastic tales, it's up to Stine, his daughter and Cooper to return the beasts back to the books where they belong.

An amusing, if overstuffed adaptation of classic R.L. Stine tales. As the children's author, Black is solid and so is the FX, though the shrieking best friend performance by Ryan Lee quickly becomes grating and Hannah's resolution is wonky at best.

Goosebumps is actually a very good spooky film, Oh Jack Black you've done it again. Outside of good acting it also has phenomenal CG monsters, good story and writing, great humor......i know this this sounds weird but i actually enjoyed this movie a lot more than "Casper" mostly because honestly i never actually read the actual books it was based on or the original series from the 1990s.

This is a pretty fun and silly film. I loved some of the ideas here, and it was awesome tons of old Goosebumps monster come alive on the big screen. Jack Black playing R.L. Stein was actually hilarious to me. The character of his daughter was also very interesting and one of the most interesting character stories in the film. Alas, this movie is mostly just fun, and not amazing.

I honestly did not like this movie, it’s more of a comedy rather than horror. It has decent moments and its entertaining but as a whole its just really generic and not as good as the original books/tv show from the 90s.
