Upset about moving from the big city to a small town, young Zach Cooper finds a silver lining when he meets his beautiful neighbor Hannah. The teen is surprised to learn that Hannah's mysterious father is R.L. Stine, the famous author of the best-selling "Goosebumps" series. The triumvirate of young actors are charming but, inevitably, it's Mr Black who steals the show with his patented, hilarious bellowing. Will today's creepypasta kids still enjoy such silly fireside supernaturalism? We do hope so.

An amusing, if overstuffed adaptation of classic R.L. Stine tales. As the children's author, Black is solid and so is the FX, though the shrieking best friend performance by Ryan Lee quickly becomes grating and Hannah's resolution is wonky at best.

Will tickle your funny-bone more than raise any actual goosebumps, but it's a fun throwback to the kind of teenage thriller best enjoyed at a Saturday afternoon matinee movie with a large box of popcorn and a Coke.

When Fear Becomes a Doorway to Courage, Creativity, and Growing Up. At first glance, Goosebumps (2015) feels like a nostalgic family film, a playful nod to the R.L. Stine books many parents remember. And it is. But beneath the monsters and humor, it offers something more meaningful for pre-teens and young teens: a safe way to explore fear, identity, and responsibility. The story follows Zach, a teen who feels out of place and discovers that his neighbor, R.L. Stine, has locked his stories away to keep their monsters from entering the real world. When they escape, fear becomes unavoidable, and growth begins. What makes Goosebumps resonate is how it treats fear. Fear isn’t eliminated or mocked; it’s understood and faced. The monsters represent the unknown, something teens encounter daily as they navigate change and independence. The message is simple but powerful: bravery isn’t the absence of fear, but moving forward despite it.

Goosebumps is actually a very good spooky film, Oh Jack Black you've done it again. Outside of good acting it also has phenomenal CG monsters, good story and writing, great humor......i know this this sounds weird but i actually enjoyed this movie a lot more than "Casper" mostly because honestly i never actually read the actual books it was based on or the original series from the 1990s.
