Audience Member A masterclass by Albert Finney, the best black comedy by Kingsley Amis, a skin-crawling mix of modern promiscuous sex and the scariest ghost ever, and a brilliant creation of a modern vicar who does not believe in all that God rubbish and lives with his boyfriend. Both hilarious and hauntingly scary, what a unique combination. This 3-part BBC series slipped under the radar, they should have simply tacked it together and put it on general cinema release. Probably the most under-rated movie ever. And Rotten Tomatoes seems to have hardly noticed it. I give it 110% . . . . :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Superb atmospheric ghost story set in classic English country inn somewhere near Oxford. "Quaint bed-and-breakfast" is a wholly inadequate description of the Tudor Inn where most of the story is filmed, which is isolated and set in its own grounds opposite an ancient woodland copse. Highly recommended if you can find a copy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member A refreshingly different tale of the supernatural ably assisted by an excellent cast. At the time of its original screening this excellent series didn't get quite as much attention as it deserved but it made a lasting impression on folk like me and I was very pleased to discover its DVD release. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member TV supernatural mniseries from 1990. Great atmosphere and character development but at the end of the day it just didn't hold my attention during the final installment as most of the scares were played out by then and the ending was anticlimatic to say the least. OK but not a classic like WOMAN IN BLACK and STONE TAPE. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
