The university atmosphere is reproduced with relentless accuracy, right down to the most subtle intonations in the voices of the professors setting the exams and asking the questions. And all of the dialogue has the ring of truth.

I love this movie. The scenes with Modine and Lathi are the best in the movie. But, all the cast carried the movie well.

All the acting is great and it's Modine's film but Christine Lahti is the reason you'll binge watch this flick. My favorite performance of hers as her look and voice was made for this role.

It's a decent rom-com, even if it's not all that funny. It has an air of authenticity, showing the ins and outs and how difficult becoming a doctor really is. The jokes and romance don't always hit the highest notes, but it has well rounded characters, that are interesting to watch, in a soap opera kind of way.

The acting is serviceable, the storyline is fair, but any dental/medical student will be sold by some of the laboratory sequences and the portrayal of student hardships in the course that are quite often dead-on.
