Though well-acted and stylish, this meta-grindhouse exercise strains under its own self-satisfied cleverness. Go to Full Review

It plays like it was written by a bro who just discovered the early films of Quentin Tarantino. Go to Full Review

For all its strenuously outrageous twists and turns, Happy Birthday! is ultimately too conventional to really stand out among similar thrillers. Go to Full Review

mark g @Mark_Alan_G. Apr 15 First problem is the film looks like it was filmed in Burbank. Just very generic with no resemblance of the gritty qualities you have seen in vastly superior depictions of Mexico. Secondly, the casting is generic, never coming close to realistic performances. It does come off like a first year film school student trying to copy Richard Rodriguez, in a generic way. See more 11/26/2018 So bad. Except for Matthew Willig, he's a pretty good goon See more 11/13/2017 Put off watching this movie for a while, but was pleasantly surprised by it. I usually don't write reviews, but feel this movie is a little gem. The ending makes the movie seem a lot more worthwhile than when you're watching it, but this still held my attention from start to finish, which is hard to do. See more 03/22/2017 Way better than SEARCH PARTY which was kind of the same movie, (this was more thriller) - with lesser known actors. There are some great scenes, the office scene with the Aerosmith guy, and the bar, also not to spoil it, but they shoot a goat over a wall at the end, and I laughed so hard the lady on the plane was staring at me. lol - not bad, and much better than some of the crap out there today. See more 03/22/2017 Actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I recognized a few of the actors, my wife watches the gold bergs, the main kid is on that, he's really good, and the other guy is in a lot of TV cop stuff. The main girl was really good, the tall girl with the huge eyes, loved her and Stephen Tyler was really really funny. It's a small movie, a real indie, kind of like a grind house drive in movie, but I had a blast and would highly recommend it if you like those types of films. Way better than that horrible office Christmas Party See more 03/10/2017 "It's only weird if you make it weird" !! It's a shame more people have not seen this movie. I didn't recognize so many of the actors, but they're all kind of the 'hey, i know that guy'. Eric Palladino from ER was great as The Cowboy, stepping out of his usual cop-on-tv roles... I had lots of fun, and the big guy from "We're The Millers" was hilarious. See more Read all reviews
