Audience Member This movie had a really strong atmosphere and mood. Very relaxing and calm. There is almost no music and that was beautiful. What little there was was very well done and accentuated the mood. This movie is very subtle, with minimal dialog and exposition etc. It had a realistic feel to it and I liked that. The ending didn't make complete sense to me - I felt like I missed something - but I liked it nonetheless. It was sweet and calm and quite beautiful. Probably only good for when you are in a similarly restful mood. Otherwise, you might be bored. What did this movie teach me? Sometimes less is more. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A pleasant if slight tale of two farm apprentices who slowly explore their budding relationship. Harvest contains rare warmth towards its characters and settings, but lets itself down with haphazard camera work and some of the worst cinematography I've ever seen. Granted, this is likely due to budget constraints, but numerous poorly lit scenes detract from the solid work of the cast. Likewise uneven scripting leads to a greater focus on the day-to-day life of a farmhand than on actual character development, leaving too much of the already thin plot to the second half of the film. It's hardly the German-Brokeback Mountain that it wants to be, but Harvest is worth a punt for fans of queer cinema. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
