Jason Best Movie Talk Given how emotive and raw the subject is, it's remarkable how even-handed Smarzowski manages to be. Rated: 4/5 Sep 18, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Sabrina P I live in Canada. I never knew this actually happened. The movie shook me to my core. I found it and am now telling family and friends. People need to see the horrors as history will repeat. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/18/24 Full Review Jeff N The movie itself is very good, and touches on a mostly unknown event that occured during the war. The violence is very hard to watch, even moreso because it actually happened. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review Don H The film is great, the theme is horrifying. It portrays the fallenness of mankind and the horrible things we do to each other because of extreme nationalism, fascism and hate. What that poor woman had to endure is beyond description. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/12/23 Full Review Audience Member In my opinion: a highly necessary film and one of modern masterpieces of war cinema, echoing Klimov's "Come and see" in its unforgiving brutal nature and mixing it with haunting imagery of something like Ben Wheatley's "Kill List". The scariest Polish horror movie ever, based on real-life events. Some people thought the movie will be a fuel for Polish nationalists anti-Ukraine propaganda, but it tackles the themes with honesty and no easy judgements, having sympathy towards both nations and understanding the pressures of inequal and divided society. Its a universal story; how mistreated can turn against the opressor/someone higher in social chain (while the real enmy is elswhere) to a very radical reaction. It always results with hell on earth. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't understand the end, and it's brutal, but a good film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Hatred (Wolyn) 2016, is a movie that could well leave you feeling uneasy afterwards however it is a film not to be missed. It delivers the extreme best and worst of relationships between family members, friends, neighbours and different ethnicities in such a way that it doesn't assume to steer or bias the viewer towards one side or another. It also didn't shy away from the atrocities that were committed and felt very real all the way through. I have read many books about people who lived during WWII and survived, this film brought another dimension and reality to their words. A compelling story that draws you in provoking feelings felt during the worst nightmares. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
