John W I don't regret watching this movie, and I almost feel like I would like to watch it again, but not soon, now that I've seen the ending. An interesting idea and and interesting character, with great supporting case. Rollins shines. You really feel that he's not acting, he's just playing himself. I've seen him in other roles and in real life, so I know that's not true. That's what a good actor he is. Watch this movie! If you don't like it after 30 minutes or so, stop. It doesn't get any better. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/24 Full Review David W A vampire film that approaches the problem of immortality in an insightful, incisive, and hilarious way. No - living forever is not fun. It's ultimately boring and will drive you insane. I laughed myself silly throughout this dark comedy. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/24 Full Review Queen X L Really great movie. Good Story, plot and characters. Something cool i have not seen bevor. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review Steve H Rollins really delivers on this one. Awsome movie..,.,. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/07/23 Full Review Martin B Rollins is no actor so this roll was perfect for him. Just be himself, say the lines and humor or irony or whatever somehow end up entertaining. Chalk the enjoyment factor here up to a guilty pleasure. Nothing really high quality about it but somehow it demands your attentions to see what Rollins character will do next. Booboo Stewart in The Grizzlies with a great part and this movie with a very forgetable minor part. So are the realities of a young actor making his way. Quality and junk movies you can't afford to pass on any. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/01/23 Full Review Movie R Very quirky. Had to force myself to keep watching early on, but then got hooked. Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com You don't need to know anything about Henry Rollins to appreciate his tongue-noticeably-in-cheek action hero performance in horror/superhero genre hybrid "He Never Died." Rated: 3/4 Dec 18, 2015 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times "He Never Died" isn't as fleshed out as it could be, but what the film lacks in vivid supporting characters and rich plotting it gets back from Rollins, whose innate charisma carries the film. Dec 18, 2015 Full Review Soren Andersen Seattle Times In addition to his large head, Rollins, actor, writer and former frontman for the punk band Black Flag, brings a fine deadpan manner to his performance in "He Never Died." Rated: 3/4 Dec 17, 2015 Full Review Howard Gorman NME (New Musical Express) It's an inspired, gruesome, violently funny and, at times, truly touching take on the subgenre. Jun 10, 2021 Full Review Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts It's a really interesting concept, it has great production value and he's a pretty kick-ass character so it's a good combination. Rated: 6/10 May 6, 2021 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The super Rollins performance makes it worth watching. Rated: B- Apr 7, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews
