Manny P I'd watch Mullan tend his allotments. He's our , homegrown, version of Loach. A sad indictment of society in general. We have created a third world in the confines of the UK and it's all about priorities : who are the citizens that really need our help, but get sidelined by political shenanigans ? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/24/21 Full Review Audience Member An amazing film that keeps you captivated from the beginning. Wonderful performances by all the cast especially Peter Mullan and the hostel manager - Sarah Solemani. A must-see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Hector is homeless and is our protagoist here. He has no steady place to stay but he manage and get's around. When he needs to go to other cities he hitchhike and when and he has some true friends that he share some time with. Family matters is harder and the ones that should be close tend to keep him away, even if he is a gentle, sober guy. He is often misunderstood but has a very warm heart. Shot in UK, around many cities. Well acted and a nice story that's more sad than fun, but steadily good. I does not feel too legit or "real" as the guy seem a bit too steady and smart to live on the street. Otherwise there is not much wrong here, but nothing spectacular either. A solid, independent UK-flick. 7 out of 10 food fights. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member The spirit of Ken Loach hangs over this surprisingly warm and rewardingly aware tale of homelessness at Christmas. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a gentle piece. Low conflict. Seems very realistic with sympathetic characters. True, it leaves a lot of threads hanging but is satisfying on a number of levels. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Well told little film. Simple. Does not try too hard to do much of anything. But does it well enough, I guess. Certainly makes you feel very grateful to have a warm home to come back to Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Rated: 4/5 Dec 10, 2015 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation Through it all Mullan is the stoic face of weary depression, resigned to a fate he may have chosen, or that may have been thrust on him although that makes no difference to him. Rated: 3/4 Dec 20, 2020 Full Review Matthew Anderson CineVue Hector, a heartfelt road movie driven by a tremendous performance from Ken Loach regular Peter Mullan, is an assured debut feature from writer-director Jake Gavin.
