Within the men of “Hell Drivers” you can see the archetypes of British masculinity that would come to dominate cinema for the next couple of decades. Go to Full Review

It reaches its highest degree of load in the truck sequences where Stanley Baker demonstrates his driving skills, but sometimes it crosses uneven roads. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The working-class personal/political tension leads to a splendidly drawn immigrant characterization by Herbert Lom and the human drama of Baker dangling from a precipice. Both remain memorable. Go to Full Review

nick s 06/27/2024 Excepting the fast-forward vehicle scenes, this movie had a gritty and believable vibe. In some places the story dragged a little but overall it stayed on track. Certainly a different slice of life. See more 09/14/2018 Gritty and realistic for its time, good storyline and good acting. Still enjoyable about 65 years on! See more 08/02/2018 Quite a wild ride! ?? See more s r @ScottR 04/28/2018 A frist class production with Sean Connery to boot. Great cast, direction, filming, and the story is a great time capsule of this type of work. Some of the plot was had gaps, but it still came together well. See more 05/24/2017 Dated and rather pedestrian drama in which a stolid Stanley Baker joins a road haulage business and finds himself at immediate odds with Red, a fag-clenching Irishman (played by a wildly hammy Patrick McGoohan). Hilarious undercranked sequences of lorries racing around Buckinghamshire are leavened by good supporting performances from George Murcell, Sean Connery, Sid James, William Hartnell, and an excellent one by Herbert Lom as Baker's roommate and love rival.
