Very average cinematography. In one continuous revolver fight near the end, the antagonist has 9 shots from his revolver while the protagonist takes 12 shots from 2 revolvers, yet takes 3 more shots from one revolver after “playing dead” …. Woeful technical accuracy. The scene would have been just as believable with a couple 8 y.o. running around the woods with toy revolvers, shouting “Bang, Bang !! No effort to resemble realism. A problem when you have “artists” controlling a production with no technical advice. Surprised Ron Perlman was coaxed into this production, but I suppose he would have no idea until the special effects and editing come together in the final production and then it’s too late … feel sorry for you, Ron. Nasty outlaws huddle on Indian Nation areas forcing lawmen to come after them. Marshall Bass Reeves is the most famous of those lawmen. Gruesome murder and explosions add spice. See more Marc Z @TKDLife 02/04/2023 This is a really, really low budget Western, but it is not terrible. There are some good elements of it and some good actors and action. The Direction and Cinematography are poor and low quality. The costumes and script are decent. It is a Western, taking place in Arkansas in the years after the Civil War in the United States. It is the story of an extraordinary gun man, who happens to be black. Circumstances have him appointed an official law man. One of the strengths of the movie is Frank Grillo. I always write that regardless of what a movie offers you can always count on Frank Grillo to deliver. This one is no exception. If you like Westerns this is worth checking out with managed expectations.
