It never repeats the tension of its opening sequence. But by this point we're sufficiently invested in Lena that we want to know how it turns out -- which is basically the point. Go to Full Review

After much blood, sweat, and tears — both on and offscreen — Hellcat offers a climax that is enthralling, raw, and richly humane. Go to Full Review

The debut feature from editor-turned-director Brock Bodell loses some of its woozy, claustrophobic tension once the action moves beyond the trailer. Still, it is a murkily atmospheric work driven by a compelling turn from Gorman. Go to Full Review

"the film is at its best when it’s just Gorman finding every possible way to walk through a single room." Go to Full Review

Hellcat alternates between grounded thriller and Lynchian fever dream, making the most of its single location with some creative uses of the trailer’s geography. As summer comes to an end, its warm, atmospheric set design will make for ideal fall viewing. Go to Full Review

Arlis M @arlis_in_chains 8 hrs ago Great premise and a fun Shudder original. Dakota Gorman killed it. See more Matthew M @kittycatman6987 Sep 12, 2026 It was good mostly because of the performance more than the script. A decent movie overall. Liked the end but saw it coming. See more M E @RT02119407 Sep 10, 2026 The main actress carries the entire movie which is why I give it one star, I genuinely thought she was great. The mystery of her infection and her abductor was ok but there’s no real progression and feels entirely drawn out. Once we finally get to the climax of the movie which is just the ending, it is absolute dog water. It’s so unfortunate bc the trailer looked decent. This had so much potential to be great just fell flat for me. See more Happy G @RT95893090 Sep 2, 2026 Hellcat keeps the viewer guessing on which direction the film will go in an age of predictability. Solid acting, directing and script. You can tell that film was able to save on the budget by doing less with more. I am interested to see what this team does in the future. See more No N @nonamenobody Sep 2, 2026 New take on the genre. Loved it. The haters are probably upset that the end is woman positive. See more Rich C @Cordu0702 Aug 28, 2026 Didn't get there for me. See more Read all reviews
