TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 6h Here the Whole Time is a movie that I would describe as okay. It isn’t terrible, but it also isn’t something that completely won me over. My biggest issue was how heavily the story focused on romantic and sexual themes involving teenagers. I don’t think every coming-of-age story needs to center so much attention on relationships, especially when the characters are still young. The main character develops feelings for a neighbor he believes is straight, and while having a crush is understandable, I felt the story sometimes blurred the line between having feelings and pursuing someone who may not share them. That made parts of the storyline uncomfortable for me. after a major revelation involving his friend, the movie seemed to lose its direction. The tone shifted dramatically, and what had been a fairly grounded story became increasingly exaggerated.
