The build in tension, the crumbling family relationships, the fact that you can see and understand every major character’s point of view even though they are wildly conflicting – this movie is a high water mark in horror and for cinema in general.

The GREATEST horror film of all time. Yes I said it. Toni Collette was robbed of an Oscar win that year. She and the film shouldve both been nominated, but we know the genre doesnt get proper respect. The full casts acting was outstanding. Great cinematography and score. Blows Rosemarys Baby and The Exorcist out of the water. Ari Astor is a new master of horror. See his film Midsommar as well. Top notch film making.

Ok. This movie shocked me to my core. I am a huge horror fan and have been a little late to watching this one. I am a huge fan of toni colletes performance in this movie and truly belive she deserved an Oscar. The film has such a disturbing atmosphere and makes you deeply sad for this family. The ending will leave you shocked and you decend into a pit of pure evil and madness. Let it unfold onto itself even if it takes a long time.
