raphael g Very beautiful. So nostalgic and sad. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice little story where we meet a little society where everyone seem to have their tasks and rituals. The lady that bake breads and the coffee guy is the main people of this little town. Everyone is old, but when the young Rita comes travelling by foot things change. She has brought her cameras and she documents her trip to the place. A place where people seem unable to die. The film is slow, but things happen occationally so it's never a bore fest. It's lovely shot and the fantastic music score that hit you with full effect a couple of times near the ending is brilliant as we look at the pictures taken througout the film. 7.5 out of 10 breads. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member deep relationships that go beyond words and intellect. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Stunning cinematography in a simply lovely film. Each scene is meticulously framed and staged for maximum beauty. And without feeling mystical, the film makes you wonder if the characters are real or simply forgotten memories. After you have time to think about the possibilities, I think a second viewing is in order, to relive the simple beauty and ponder alternate realities. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member To all photography lovers this movie is the picture of its soul. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member It starts slow and moves in a subdued sensual way through the brief time that you spend together in this sleepy village; it turns into pieces of beauty, like videos of art glued together. I enjoy this because of how it made me feel, not what it did. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

A.O. Scott New York Times The drama in "Found Memories" is subdued, sometimes almost invisible, but it moves with quiet assurance toward a startling conclusion. Rated: 4/5 May 31, 2012 Full Review Andrew Lapin NPR The feeling of twilight permeates Found Memories, which doesn't feel so much like a tale of discovery as it does a eulogy. May 31, 2012 Full Review Michelle Orange Village Voice Initially treated like the parasite she appears to be, over the course of this crisp, gracefully inflected meditation on time's passage, Rita develops the interest in her subjects that turns an image into more than stolen light. May 29, 2012 Full Review Dustin Chang Floating World Found Memories is a moving tribute to memories we hold dear to ourselves. Murat's sensitive, leisurely storytelling style reminds me of magic realism in Latin American literary tradition. Feb 28, 2021 Full Review Ard Vijn ScreenAnarchy Beautifully shot and beautifully scored, its languid pace only makes you like the cast more and helps create a fairytale-like atmosphere without seeming fake. Jan 14, 2020 Full Review John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) If a supernatural intepretation is correct, is the village's fate melancholy or enviable? Is an eternity of old age pleasant or pointless? Rated: 3/4 Jun 18, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews
