      Hobo With a Shotgun

      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

It certainly isn't subtle -- or even terribly smart -- but as a gleefully gory homage to low-budget exploitation thrillers, Hobo with a Shotgun packs plenty of firepower.

Benjamin C This Movie is a Masterpiece. I'm enjoying watching Hobo with a Shotgun. It has the late 70's, Early 80's grindhouse. I really liked and read The Punisher Max comic. I really like the Awesome Scenes. I really mindful. It's really the "Graphically Violent" Guts and Gore. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/04/23 Full Review Jaz A THE CREATIVITY, THE WAY THIS MOVIE HAD US ON THE EDGE OF OUR SEATS THE ENTIRE TIME
. COMPLETELY UNDERRATED AND B⭐D⭐SS. THE ENTIRE CAST COULD NOT HAVE DONE BETTER Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/24/23 Full Review David Y Easily one of the top 10 Canadian films of all time in the razor blade bat murder genre. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/12/23 Full Review Oliver A A criminally underrated film that harkens back to classic exploitation movies with a gleefully modern twist. This film will not disappoint- though it's not for the faint of heart or woke. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/09/23 Full Review Jon-Norman G Fantastic throwback b-style movie. We need more of this Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/07/23 Full Review Christopher B It does what it sets out to do, make a homage to low-budget exploitation flicks and the over the top violence and gore suit it perfectly. It's completely over the top, sick and twisted, and just plain fun! So long as you go in with the right attitude and knowing what to expect, you will enjoy it. Recommended, if you know what to expect and appreciate the genre for what it delivers. Don't expect anything overly smart or original but more a fun visceral experience that is surface level but fun in a "so bad it's good" type of way! Anna Smith metro.co.uk Hobo With A Shotgun is as likely to please Quentin Tarantino fans as it is to offend everyone else, with scenes of elaborate decapitations and scantily clad women writhing in the ensuing blood spatter. Rated: 3/5 Aug 24, 2018 Full Review Jim Schembri The Age (Australia) Gloriously over-the-top blood pudding about a homeless man (Hauer) who goes Dirty Harry on a dead-end town run by sadistic crims. Rated: 3/5 Oct 18, 2011 Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) It stomps over any notions of good taste and credibility after roughly five minutes. Rated: 1/5 Jul 15, 2011 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review From the acting to the production design, the heightened presentation will test viewers (and not in a good way), even those versed in exploitation films of this sort. Rated: 1.5/4 Jun 7, 2023 Full Review Ed Travis Hollywood Jesus There are two kinds of people in the world, people who will watch a movie called Hobo With A Shotgun, and people who will avoid it at all costs. I fall in the former category, and if you do too, I have to believe that you will fall in love. Apr 2, 2020 Full Review David Harris Spectrum Culture I'm happy to see Hauer is still blowing folks away but I really do hope that the rest of the actors in this film never, ever work in front of the camera again.
