Ted B 3.0 stars; I really love mysteries, especially those with plot twists. This movie delivered pretty well in that category. The only problem was that it took too too long to hook you into the plot. Too much time was spent building the characters, to the point where it made the first half of the movie boring. Once it got moving, it was pretty tense and compelling. it just waited too late to get going. Dianna Agron did a pretty decent job in the lead period. However, the supporting cast left a lot on the table. I was glad I hung in there to the point where the plot got interesting, just to get to the plot twist at the end. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The performances are a bit shaky but this directorial debut graces with it's small-town crime tension and involving little story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Went into this movie not expecting much and was surprisingly very impressed. Starts out as a slow burn in the beginning but once it catches you it doesn't let go until the shocking finale. Full of twists and turns and a body count quickly adding up you will think you have this one figured out but not until up until the end does the last puzzle piece fall into place. A must see! This movie is definitely underrated! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Hollow in the land is an OK thriller but it’s nothing too great. The movie goes with a lot of twists and turns but the pacing is kind of messy and the film is a little boring. Some more suspense and drama would’ve helped. It’s a low-budget thriller but I think with more tension and some better supporting performances it could’ve been a better film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/02/19 Full Review farah r Even getting past the pointless, uneventful first 20 minutes didn't help alleviate the anguish of having to watch this dull, overlong drama. Hollow In The Land is a jumbled mess of a story that lacks character development and a satisfactory conclusion. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Brad Wheeler Globe and Mail The low-budget effort from Vancouver writer-director Scooter Corkle is earnest and methodical, with a tone-setting murkiness to it. Rated: 3/4 Feb 2, 2018 Full Review Bruce DeMara Toronto Star Corkle has amply demonstrated his strengths as a filmmaker, in crafting a noir-ish tale with a few well-placed twists and in assembling a solid cast bolstered by an engaging lead. Rated: 3/4 Jan 25, 2018 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times A well-told story, with a strong sense of place. Dec 7, 2017 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse More of a snapshot of life in a small town than it is a murder mystery. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 28, 2021 Full Review Chelsea Phillips-Carr Scene Creek What could have been a beautiful mess, a work of pure chaos and absurdity in its strange choices that never come together, is instead dull, feeling overlong despite its incredibly reasonable 92 minute runtime. Rated: 1/5 Jul 19, 2018 Full Review Chris Knight National Post It's just outlandishly twisty. Rated: 2/5 Jan 26, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
