Audience Member (** 1/2): I truly enjoy coming-of-age films, but this one didn't really hold my attention throughout. The cast is good but the film just didn't completely work for me. AKA: Hot Summer Rain Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Me ha encantado. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoy Banderas as an actor and was hoping that this would reflect some of his skill. I saw it in translation (sub-titles) so it may work better in Spanish. I think he is overreaching his material and that the movie is very derivative. It is his 'sophmore' directing effort and I think the movie shows that. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Antonio Banderas' second directorial feature about a bunch of coming of age youths. Stylish in visual cinematography & music used; sluggish in narrative however. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member i didn't expect Banderas to make such a cool sensual and sexy movie!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Suppa yawn.... If it wasn't for the Spanish language, I probably wouldn't watch it.. Kirk Honeycutt Hollywood Reporter A train wreck of a movie. Jan 25, 2007 Full Review Jonathan Holland Variety A technically classy mood piece that ultimately falls victim to stylistic excesses. Dec 30, 2006 Full Review Boyd van Hoeij european-films.net When in the mood for a sultry, summery Spanish mood piece, this film might fit the bill. Whether it signals the arrival of a new auteur, that is another matter entirely. Jul 18, 2007 Full Review Film Threat Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 16, 2007 Full Review Read all reviews
