Owen Gleiberman Variety “Hot Take” is like a second warped lens slapped on top of the first one. It doesn’t clarify; it literalizes yet blurs. Oct 2, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Parks W Pathetic attempt to relitigate the 2022 Virginia defamation trial. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review tina g Low budget & inconsistent with the real trial. Sad that Hollywood even tried to remake this. The movie would've been better making the story what it really was - a narcissistic woman lying without a care in the world & making a mockery of our justice system. Though I will say, the actress did a better job acting than Amber Heard - as this actress actually had real tears. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review andrew r Having watched most of the trial (and the media bias for Amber, even though most the evidence showed SHE was the abuser), expected this to be an anti-Depp film. It isn't - just plays out both scenarios (according to AH and JD) and - as in the trial - evidence ended up favoring Johnny. The reliance of cutting to social media posters on both sides grew old quickly - one round would have been fine but the constant interruption to the narrative became annoying. Not a classic but not bad for a low budget, quickly made tv pic. Both the leads did well in capturing the protagonists' personalities recreating court and taped records. Even the actor playing wacky Dr. Spiegel seemed to capture the bizarre testimony! If you watched the actual trial, it's memory lane, 4 months later. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Kyle T Cash grab film to capitalize on a public televised trial mere months ago. The actors who played the rolls admitted they knew nothing of trial before getting involved, and it shows as the trial has be done and dusted and yet nothing happens in the movie that actually happened in real life. Not worth the watch. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/04/22 Full Review Kelly L Disjointed, inconclusive, plotless, and slightly bizarre - not unlike the actual trial. At least the trial had some semblance of character development. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
