Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review Quietly profound, very moving, very engaging and made me feel like I was in a kind of magical bubble and when cinema works at it best, that's what it does. Anmol S Best movie of India so far , even with a low budget it hits different. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/24 Full Review Audience Member Genuine, heartfelt, poignant, moving. This is the first movie I've ever felt like reviewing on RT. It's a unique, serious, funny, amazing piece of a culture, of a family, of life and death. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will watch it again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A subtle, honest celebration of family relationships and of dying and death. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Absolute Gem of direction and writing! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Mukti Bhawan directed by Devashish Bhutiani is a brilliant observation on why death needs to be celebrated: not just in movies, but also in life. Here, it is a rare moment in the cinema screens where you'll not be shedding tears or grieving at the death of the crucial character here, but you'll have a smile on your face. Such is the brilliance of filmmaking that despite the slow pace, you'll never let go of it and suck into the tale unblinkingly. Maybe it's about the beautiful shots of Benaras, but it's more about the thoughtful penning down of the characters. Adil Hussain as Rajiv is wonderful, and so is Lalit Behl as Daya, a memorable character of father on-screen. All the actors have done their parts quiet perfectly. What's more, it's intent is to entertain, because it has plenty of funny moments. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a small film but very rewarding. Deserves it's critical plaudits. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
