Marisa Not my cup of tea. Left before it was over. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Audience Member Close to a masterpiece showing so many layers, assets, and pitfalls of humanity. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Juls G I thought it was awful. I left after watching for an hour. Maybe I missed something in translation. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/25/24 Full Review Gary G It was good but a bit lost culturally to USA viewers such as me, but I could get past it. That said, I would have liked some better character development for Toni and a few of the randoms living in the house. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/23/24 Full Review J T This was a visceral rollercoaster. Real, tragic, full of empathy and beauty. I highly recommend. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/21/24 Full Review Aaron S This movie was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. There is no character build up at all. It takes at least half the film to determine who is who and how they go together. Except for the fact that I went with someone to this movie, I would have definitely left early. In conclusion, "Housekeeping for Beginners" is a train wreck of a movie that should come with a warning label: "Proceed at your own risk." Save yourself the agony and steer clear of this cinematic catastrophe. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Johanna Schneller Globe and Mail In lesser hands, this chaos might tumble into melodrama or farce. But Stolevski’s actors deliver such naturalistic performances, and he writes such specific dialogue... Apr 12, 2024 Full Review Amy Nicholson Washington Post By the end, we’ve soaked up something of modern Macedonia and had our own cultural standards put to the rack. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 11, 2024 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Stolevski creates a wonderful group of flawed but understandable characters and then illustrates just how brave they are as they pull together to negotiate and overcome treacherous encounters. Rated: 3.5/4 Apr 10, 2024 Full Review John Paul King Washington Blade Another triumph from a young filmmaker whose reputation only gets more stellar with each effort. Apr 26, 2024 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review The emotions, violence, humor and warmth all come through beautifully, without an ounce of sentimentality, making everything that transpires believable and heartfelt and making the film one of the better ones I’ve seen so far this year. Rated: 3/4 Apr 25, 2024 Full Review Joe Friar Fort Worth Report Stolevski's chaotic third feature features rich characters, relentless energy, and an intimacy that usually accompanies a muted environment. Exceptional performances by Anamaria Marinca, Vladimir Tintor, and newcomer Samson Selim, who steals the show. Rated: 3.5/4 Apr 21, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
