Jake C Scarily realistic window into the world of football hooliganism in the 80s. All these years later it still stands up to scrutiny. A classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/06/23 Full Review Audience Member It was ok and some fairly good acting...but started to drag a bit towards the end Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member It may seem a bit exaggerating, as far as the plot is concerned, but a british film about hooligans rarely fails. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Classic stuff from Philip Davis. Dinsdale is the balls as the cop who is slowly been overtaken over by the undercover character that he has created. It is a shame that he never really went onto bigger things. I love the use of the football grounds and the characters played by Pertwee, Clarke and especially Lee Ross as Gumbo. Serious twitch off Saskia and early roles for Gene Hunt from Life on Mars, Eastenders Billy Mitchell and Dr. Truman. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member A bit like a low-budget, fictional, English, footbally version of Donnie Brasco. If you can see past the "wasn't he in Grange Hill?" questions that keep springing to mind and the wall-to-wall swearing, it's not a bad film for all that. It's a shame the Shadwell football team is fictional, which along with a few Rada luvvies, Mockney accents and a few Emmerdale punches, detracts a little from any would-be realism. 6.75/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member An undercover British policeman infiltrates a group of violent hooligans by disguising himself as one of them. Eventually, he finds he fits the part all too well. A gripping British drama filled with dark violent tension and good character development.
