Scrat's continuous pursuit of an infernal acorn has world-changing consequences for Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo) and Diego (Denis Leary) when the continents split apart. Never mind that the freshness of the original Ice Age and its main characters Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary), and Sid (John Leguizamo) has dissipated. How many series could sustain themselves at all through a fourth iteration?

Just sort of sits on the screen, going through the motions for 90 minutes or so. It's neither good nor bad and, unless you are under the age of 8, you'll likely forget it by the time you get home.

Unnecessary, illogical continuation. Continental Drift is really when the franchise kinda just… died. The third one wasn’t particularly good either, but at least it didn’t feel like we threw all rules and logic out of the window. Here, the opening sequence is Scat literally plummeting down to “Earth’s Core”, and running around on it chasing the usual acorn, resulting in a literal divide of continents. And the movie just kinda has that feel to it. Like they no longer care about any rules or sense of logic, and just desperately trying to keep going with silly antics and ludicrous storylines. I understand I’m talking about an Ice Age movie, but if there aren’t any sort of rules or logic to ground it at all, why should I care what happens?

Not as good as the first three. But, if you want to see a Peaches as a teenager and Manny, Sid, and Diego going on a generic sailing adventure then go ahead. I would say skip this one and watch one of the first three instead. They have a lot more heart. I completely forgot everything about this movie after I saw it.
