What to Know

Critics Consensus

Ice Age: Continental Drift 3D has moments of charm and witty slapstick, but it often seems content to recycle ideas from the previous films.

Leonard Maltin IndieWire ...everything I liked about the original movie has been worn down. Aug 3, 2012 Full Review Leonard Maltin leonardmaltin.com Never mind that the freshness of the original Ice Age and its main characters Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary), and Sid (John Leguizamo) has dissipated. How many series could sustain themselves at all through a fourth iteration? Rated: 2.1/2 Jul 13, 2012 Full Review Christopher Orr The Atlantic Yes, this is the part where I outsource my critical role to my children. If you are the kind of person who (quite understandably) abhors this particular gimmick, you may wish to stop reading now. Jul 13, 2012 Full Review Kip Mooney College Movie Review Unless you've got little kids you need to entertain for an hour-and-a-half, don't waste any time on [this]. Rated: F Sep 18, 2021 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Ice Age: Continental Drift isn't much more than a paint-by-numbers animated feature with a positive, pro-family message. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 11, 2020 Full Review Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News Just sort of sits on the screen, going through the motions for 90 minutes or so. It's neither good nor bad and, unless you are under the age of 8, you'll likely forget it by the time you get home. Apr 11, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Captain S Critics should note that these films were made for kids...and when I watched them for the first time back when I was a kid I liked these...even Collision Course Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Chris I This movie is overly criticized without a valid reason. The thing is, most top critics are probably likely over the age of 20 years old. If you watched this film as a kid, there’s an 80% chance you absolutely LOOVVED it. The original Ice Age movies are great, but just because this one takes a different direction doesn’t mean its quality should be overlooked. It stands as a genuinely good movie on its own, yet its uniqueness is the very reason most people perceive it negatively, If everyone were to be more honest (setting originality traits aside), it likely would’ve earned an 87%. i bet if they had simply included the baby and the humans, they wouldn’t even need to do or say anything. Just their presence alone would’ve instantly bumped the ratings up by 3–4 stars, and its sad. 8.7/10 movie at least. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/04/25 Full Review Joey G This was a good movie, but not a great movie. I kinda felt like it was just Ice Age 2 again. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/26/25 Full Review Eden M For me it's the greatest Ice Age I ever seen Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/02/25 Full Review Mark M Not as good as the other films but is still fun to follow Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/01/25 Full Review Dominic C This is Ice Age 2 all over again Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review Read all reviews
