Critics Consensus

Ice Age: Continental Drift 3D has moments of charm and witty slapstick, but it often seems content to recycle ideas from the previous films.

Leonard Maltin indieWire ...everything I liked about the original movie has been worn down. Aug 3, 2012 Full Review Leonard Maltin leonardmaltin.com Never mind that the freshness of the original Ice Age and its main characters Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary), and Sid (John Leguizamo) has dissipated. How many series could sustain themselves at all through a fourth iteration? Rated: 2.1/2 Jul 13, 2012 Full Review Christopher Orr The Atlantic Yes, this is the part where I outsource my critical role to my children. If you are the kind of person who (quite understandably) abhors this particular gimmick, you may wish to stop reading now. Jul 13, 2012 Full Review Kip Mooney College Movie Review Unless you've got little kids you need to entertain for an hour-and-a-half, don't waste any time on [this]. Rated: F Sep 18, 2021 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Ice Age: Continental Drift isn't much more than a paint-by-numbers animated feature with a positive, pro-family message. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 11, 2020 Full Review Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News Just sort of sits on the screen, going through the motions for 90 minutes or so. It's neither good nor bad and, unless you are under the age of 8, you'll likely forget it by the time you get home. Apr 11, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member "Ice Age: Continental Drift" is a movie with an average story line, with the historical twist of it being about the break up of the super continent: Pangea. It brings along multiple holes in storyline from the third movie in the franchise, the largest and most notable being the random add on of Lewis (Peaches best friend) and Peaches becoming a teenager. All round a decent movie with noticeable flaws, and the last of its kind in the franchise. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/01/25 Full Review Samuel W This Ice Age film takes us back to the roots for a good chunk of the movie, but with crazy antics that keep getting amped up for every consecutive movie thus far. The trope of Ice Age starts to get a little tiresome after four movies, but this movie still has the same heart and care as the rest of the films. With brand new voices in the mix of the likes of Wanda Sykes, Peter Dinklage, Keke Palmer, and so, so many more newcomers, the variety of the cast is now baffling. But as the cast grows larger and larger, it starts to get harder to focus on every character, and it seems like some characters are only in the movie to, well, be in the movie. With a little bit of organized chaos and a few good moments, this is still a fine watch as any other predating Ice Age movies. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/01/25 Full Review Joshua V Ice age continental drift review one of my favorite movies of all time seen 900 million 4k ultra high definition high dynamic range10 looks really good I love Wanda skyes granny she has most rememberable lines moment in the movie and I really love the the siren scene and everyone voice acting was amazing and I love song we are family song is my favorite song 5 star 10 out 10 star 100 out 100 star Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/21/24 Full Review Nick R There are actually some good elements in here, but everything has gotten ridiculous and gone off the rails. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review Leaburn O This one gets a rating of 8 even if I thought it was a 6. The reason for this elevated score is because, “I thought it was funny”.
