Audience Member Something to do with Germany suffering some kind of collective mental illness as a result of the Nazis. Starts off breezily enough then drags for about an hour. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member An odd and disjointing film to come to cold, but nonetheless a rewarding one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A tragic and moving film with great performances by August Diehl as Bernward Vesper and especially Lena Lauzemis as Gudrun Ensslin. Great score by Annette Focks. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Catherine Wheatley Sight & Sound A very welcome addition to the canon of radical-political biographies. Jul 9, 2018 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian Has the same slightly flavourless character as Uli Edel's 2008 film The Baader Meinhof Complex. Rated: 2/5 Mar 1, 2012 Full Review Nigel Andrews Financial Times The themes foment, yet never quite ferment into a convincing brew. Rated: 2/5 Mar 1, 2012 Full Review Philip French Observer (UK) It's an intelligent, complex, persuasive film... Mar 4, 2012 Full Review Emma Dibdin Total Film This is a shrewd two-pronged portrait of psychological unravelling against a vast political backdrop, with a daring, disturbing performance from Lauzemis. Rated: 4/5 Mar 2, 2012 Full Review Allan Hunter Daily Express (UK) The film effectively conveys the way in which key events from the Sixties radicalised them both and propelled Gudrun into the arms of charismatic activist Andreas Baader.
