I often find myself going back and forth on whether it surpasses the original—it’s that good. Seeing it in the theater for the first time on Father’s Day was unforgettable. There’s something about watching it on the big screen that reveals layers I’d never noticed before: the quiet glances, the subtle humor, the emotional undercurrents between the action scenes. What makes this film especially meaningful to me is the father-son dynamic at its core. It’s what transforms an adventure movie into something deeply personal. I still remember watching it at home with my dad—he never sat down, just stood behind the couch, fully invested. Classic dad move. Indiana Jones was probably his favorite character, and in some way, I think he saw himself in him—steadfast, clever, maybe a little stubborn, but always trying to do right. This film is more than just an adventure—it's a tribute to fatherhood. That’s why it’s my go-to Father’s Day movie. Here's to the dads who stood behind us, quietly backing us like Indy’s father did. It’s a thrilling romp that shows a different side of Indy, constantly beraided by his father, Henry Jones Sr. The acting is decent, with Harrison Ford and Sean Connery shining, and the plot is great, weaving a fast-paced quest for the Holy Grail. It ain’t perfect, but it earns four stars for its nostalgic, crowd-pleasing charm.
