Ryan Gilbey New Statesman Deadpan humour does arise out of simple edits, such as a close-up of [Laurentiu] Ginghina talking that cuts to a mid-shot which reveals he has been brandishing a pointer and standing in front of a whiteboard the whole time. May 6, 2020 Full Review Danny Leigh Financial Times The 70-minute running time passes like a brisk dream during a slightly delirious nap. Rated: 4/5 May 6, 2020 Full Review Adam Woodward Little White Lies A special film about the beautiful game, and so much more. Rated: 4/5 May 6, 2020 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...even if you don't buy into the heretical notions contained here, there's something beguiling about this unique vision of liquid football.... Rated: 2/5 Mar 31, 2021 Full Review Alistair Harkness Scotsman The leaps that get us there are so subtle that the philosophical reach of the film's finale - which, like The Whistlers, is built around a linguistic flourish - proves unexpectedly thrilling. dave d On the surface this is about what Americans call soccer, but in reality it's about so much more. It's a divine Romanian documentary that comes together very well over the last 15 minutes. It's over before you know it. It's nice to not only feel like a fly on the wall around conversations, but also when the conversations feel important. When this movie clicks it hits home and hopefully it does for you if you can find it! Final Score: 7.2/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member If you like a film about some random guy's delusions of grandeur, intermixed with discussions with the general public navigating the Romanian bureaucracy, this is for you. There is literally no point to the film. 1.5 hours of a guy ruminating over his sad life while telling how he's going to re-imagine the game of soccer ... except no-one thinks his ideas are good. Ugh, Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
