Phil O I loved this film. It's pretty rare to watch a movie where the camera choices are purposely reserved so that the actors' performances are front, center, and exposed. I felt like every moment was earned, and when a new character comes into the scene, you can feel the whole mood of the room change. It's pretty amazing to be moved to tears because you were so invested in the moments earned. In an age of "if it's not streaming, it's not worth buying" I say purchase and re-watch this every year! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/25 Full Review Beth M Really enjoyed this movie! Powerful performances, well-constructed plot, craftly written, engaging story and characters with depth that make you want to know more about them. Each character lays bare their own flaws with complementary performances that, work flawlessly off each other with an easy flow. The conflicts are portrayed with authentic edginess. The cinematography is beautifully done, well shot and the scenery is gorgeous. The original score by Chris Mulkey stands out and truly adds to the overall authentic feel of this film. A good wrapped up ending. Well done on every level, enjoyable film, highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/16/25 Full Review Ted E Wow! Just saw "Inheritance," and at a theater no less. An amazing film. Feels like the big budget, A-list talent, story-driven films Hollywood used to make, but it's making waves on the indie scene. A stellar, unpredictable screenplay by Rachel Noll James from a story by James and Austin Highsmith Garces, who also play the leads, two estranged sisters who reunite following the death of their father. Everything about this film feels authentic, with real people facing fears, faults, the past, and finding inner strength; they're the superheroes in this gem. Co-starring Wes Brown, Michelle Hurd, and Chris Mulkey under the expert direction of Emily Moss Wilson, stunning production design by Kate Melia, costumes by Kyle Kozyrev and gorgeous cinematography by Dan Clarke, this is a film you won't soon forget. In fact, I'm ready to watch it again. Let me add, I don't often get misty-eyed in a film anymore, but this one grabs hold and doesn't let go, in a good way. It'll be streaming soon, and look for it in film festivals around the country. Don't miss it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/26/25 Full Review Nora H A haunting portrait of fractured family ties.
