Audience Member Invitation was a success Always believing she had a happy marriage, a young wife's trust in her husband is shaken when she discovers that her father had paid him to marry her. Van Johnson and Dorothy Maguire made the perfect movie, in that the smoothness of each other was almost perfect, one would not ever know, Van was being paid. The ending was a surprise!I could watch this movie again and again. It was heart-warming. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Powerfully performed and acted by Dorothy McGuire. The plot seems like it will be simplistic, but you are in for a surprise. Invitation is another of Hollywood's tales told from the rich man's perspective (weren't they all?) but this one has some guts to it and a solid performance by McGuire. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Interestingly plotted film that features one of Dorothy McGuire's best performances as a woman with only one year to live. Van Johnson plays the man who is secretly hired to show her one great last year. Ruth Roman as a scorned girlfriend also shines. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member If you've read the synopsis, you can tell this is going to be an exciting, interesting movie, which it is for the most part, but then there are some really boring talky scenes as well, that drag it down. Otherwise it's pretty good. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member good stuff great cast Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
