Audience Member Definitely not that many nice looking women living on Iona. No chance. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A film set on an island off a Scottish Island. Short on dialogue, long on Scottish island memes. However if you can get through the occasionally dragging plot and long periods of silence it's a good watch and with beautiful scenery and a cast with Negga and Henshall it's worth it. Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Flawed but atmospheric ... Rated: 3/5 Mar 27, 2016 Full Review Charlotte Keeys Little White Lies Melancholy characters shine in this powerful portrait of island life. Rated: 3/5 Mar 25, 2016 Full Review Wendy Ide Guardian It's a striking piece, and director of photography Yoliswa von Dallwitz evocatively captures the exposed, untamed island landscape. Rated: 3/5 Mar 24, 2016 Full Review Alexa Dalby Dog and Wolf The film's pace is slow and quiet, like the island. Dialogue is sparse - and its sparseness powerfully implies that there is much that still cannot be said even after the passing of time. Rated: 3/5 May 31, 2019 Full Review Jennifer Heaton Alternative Lens Negga's lead performance is strong, but the film's deliberately slow pacing and dour tone make the film a hard sit ... Rated: 5/10 Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Rosalynn Try-Hane Battle Royale With Cheese Beautiful, savage and beguiling describes both the island and the central protagonist (stunning performance by Ruth Negga) of this film by writer/director Scott Graham.
