See more 08/04/2020 This Marvel anime sucks. I wasn't expecting anything on par with DC's direct-to-DVD filmography but my God, is Rise of Technovore not a good movie. There are a few amusing quips and I enjoyed it when Iron Man and the Punisher temporarily teamed up leading to the best/most coherent action sequence in the entire movie. Unfortunately, the dialogue is poorly written, the voice acting in the English dub could've really benefitted from a better voice director, the story lacks the intrigue of the character arc of Tony Stark's MCU counterpart and the animation...I feel like it's not the animation itself is bad. The character designs look okay and apparently most anime operates under the "every animation frame is a painting" mentality. But it's the atrocious colour palette. I'm not expecting Studio Ghibli but come on guys, you know this overly desaturated look just makes it hard to comprehend what's going on in action sequences. Ultimately, this Iron Man adventure released to coincide with his third big-screen solo live-action adventure might please anybody who wanted him to team up with Frank Castle but it ultimately strikes me as a movie that fails to please both Marvel fans and anime fans. See more 08/29/2017 Another terrible Marvel animation, The story was horrible and made little sense, I thought the animation and action were ok but nothing great, The voice cast were dull but Norman Reedus as The Punisher was good but underused, Marvel has always had a villain problem and the villain in this was so boring and at the end he went all BOW from a Resident Evil game and didn't fit the film at all, Overlong, Dull and overstuffed plot make this a horrible animation.
