Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Just like the first "Iron Sky," the sequel is frustratingly unfocused as a commentary on the modern world - and even more so as a story. Jul 19, 2019 Full Review Faisal Al-Jadir Film Inquiry The Coming Race doesn't have the love and affection of its predecessor, nor does it have a sense of discipline or focus, and unfortunately falls flat. Sep 22, 2019 Full Review Joey Magidson Hollywood News As much as this premise could make for a good time, it's largely a bore and a mess. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 20, 2019 Full Review Kiko Martinez San Antonio Current Call it mindless schlock if that makes you feel better about liking it, but campy movies are supposed to be ridiculous and entertaining. Iron Sky: The Coming Race is light years from the latter. Rated: .5/5 Jul 19, 2019 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Noisy and unfunny, still pawing at the same obvious political targets while expanding its capacity for mayhem, hoping to wow viewers instead of tickle them with relentless absurdity. Rated: D Jul 18, 2019 Full Review Samantha Nelson The Verge The Coming Race might not sell the need for this absurd series to continue, it at least provides a reason to go back and watch the original, and help its creators get the money they need to try to recapture their uniquely bizarre form of movie magic. Chris D The Earth isn't hollow, but this movie is Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review Cliff T Not hard to see why the franchise has bankruptcy written all over it. I met Reni Harland before he got the Die Hard franchise. My impression was not a good one. I have me Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. Some might call it luck, I call it education because again - - negative atmospheric pressure is always on the rise for many reason best appearing in the pages of a tell-all book. Point is I see a direct connection these people, my impressions of them and the quality of their work. I love Finland and have had high hopes for their creatives since they gave my album such a great write up an reception. Helsinki is on of my top 10 cities with warm friendly kind people. Many say: "Come on Cliff, they had no control on how the final product will turn out". Bullsh*t. These big stars in the game have tons of control - -long story short. More than most people can even dream of as the studio slobs are making millions, win or lose with next to zero accountability. Am I going too fast for you? Sure, I'll take the blame. My taste bends towards quality acting in the classic genre and I love the theatre; not fake CGI (I laugh reading, "low budget CGI," has it come to that? Lol) ALL CGI stinks...and I'm sick to my back teeth with comic book cardboard cut-outs and reptilian Hitlers riding dinosaurs. Oh is that a first? Lol. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Iron Sky Invasion from 2012 was a funny, bizarre and refreshingly different film, with a holistic, recognizable historical and satirical plot, and it was well directed, edited and the acting performances were credible, Impressing achievement from a low budget. However, Iron Sky The Coming Race basically has none of the above, but instead appears like a a chaotic hipshot into and from every angle of a youtubicalistic mishmash from modern conspiracy through technological absurdity and into apocalyptic tragedy. It's actually so scary that any comedy and satirical distance collapses. In today's jungle of films and series, it won't even make it as a cult turkey. What a waste. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member How do you top moon Nazis attacking earth? With a hollow earth race of half man/half dinosaur cannibals led by the human/dinosaur crossbred versions of Adolf Hitler and Steve Jobs. With a long list of some of the most outlandish conspiracy theories there are, this holds nothing back in terms of the absurd and outlandish and culminates with half man/half dinosaur Hitler attacking the moon while on the back of T-Rex. As aesthetically pleasing as the original, it somehow feels less original and more bland of a story which makes it that much closer to a SyFy channel original. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review joe m Picking up where "Iron Sky" left off, "Iron Sky: The Coming Race" is ok, yet just doesn't have the same camp, bad ass quality of the first movie. Moves along with an interesting plot, some decent dialogue and a few - too few - humorous moments. Fans of the first will love it, everyone else will just be meh. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This is more hilarious than most comedy movies I've seen in the past 5 years.
