Audience Member It Happened in Athens tells the story of the first ever Olympic games taking place in Athens, Greece where an underdog (played by Trax Colton) tries bring back glory into the nation of Greece while being romantically pursued by Eleni Costa (played by the wonderful Jayne Mansfield). While It Happened in Athens was a historically inaccurate portrayal that was acknowledged along with the questionable cinematography and makeup, the film still had some good qualities that made this film serviceable and entertaining. The music to start off the film was pretty good, Jayne Mansfield's performance was as fantastic as her performance in The Girl Can't Help It, and the costume designs for most of the film were pretty nuanced and authentic. It Happened in Athens may not be an accurate portrayal of what happened in Athens, but it is still a good, fun, warming, and entertaining film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This picture contains a historical example of trippy insanity...Zeus almighty, pray this production crew go straight to heaven so we can enjoy inferno all we like. Alright, I laughed most of the times to measure the tears in my eyes. Not for the lack of accuracy nor that miss Kalogeropoulou was in it. It's that I pity the audience who payed and sat through it back when it was released. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
