DanTheMan 2 @DanTheMan2150AD Jan 12 Because of course there's an Indian film called Jackie Chan and of course it features the greatest action star you've never heard of in the form of Thriller Manju. Representing action cinema in its rawest, purest form Jackie Chan won't be for everyone. Every frame involves such a naked attempt at Manju's own deification; it makes Steven Seagal look relaxed about his own image. While the bombastic editing and histrionic camera work Manju employs delivers an exceptionally entertaining combination of over-the-top ego and even more over-the-top technique. Every time Manju enters a scene, he's accompanied by a dizzying barrage of deadpan poses, crash zooms and musical stings that never get tired. It ultimately forces us to accept Manju really is as cool as he thinks he is. The guy can kill people with his own shoes and then stop to dance to a cover of Dr.Alban's It's My Life. I can't imagine what more anyone could want from a film like this, except maybe English dialogue. See more Read all reviews
