Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Nothing more than one of the many quickly forgotten attempts to be the next franchise-spawning action icon. Rated: 3/10 Sep 6, 2020 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy One of the worst of the many '80s action flicks. Rated: 1/4 Dec 15, 2019 Full Review John Higgins Starburst As such, it is a movie that takes a little too long to get going, before the real nitty-gritty of the action arrives in an admittedly pacey climax. Rated: 5/10 May 24, 2018 Full Review David Cornelius eFilmCritic.com There's something magical going on in Jake Speed, something that transcends the B-movie action and the occasionally clumsy moments. Steve D Sounds fun on paper but there isn't enough talent here to do the idea justice. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Ultimately but not surprisingly Jake Speed was not a success at the Box Office. The film attempts to tap into the spirit of the adventure serial but poor narrative choices as well as poor pacing sabotage what could have been a fun movie. This is especially frustrating as the film has a lot of charm and quirkiness trying to come through and some of the casting, especially Hurt and Christopher does wonders which is why it's such a shame the movie fails as a whole. Jake Speed is an often forgotten movie but while it has imperfections it does prove to be a treasure worth digging up. While a viewer shouldn't expect gold it does offer charm among its rusted edges. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member 80's movie nostalgia kicking in again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member great fun and a suitably nasty turn from John Hury Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/06/18 Full Review Audience Member this movie is a lot of fun.. do not expect much, as it is a really basic 80s action movie.. but its pretty well acted, the action if fun and the soundtrack is by Mark Snow of X-files fame Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Yet another film which has flashes of Indiana Jones, or maybe, more accurately, Romancing the Stone. Based on pulp comic mens adventure type books, this story follows an adventurer hired to save a woman's sister from white slavery. Much the same set-up as Eaten Alive or even Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death, but none of those movies are at all similar. The humor was for the most part lost on me as I didnt care for the actor delivery of the material (which he, apparently, wrote). Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
