Jay Carr Boston Globe Freed of the need to work at real characterization, Olivier and Caine, in their different ways, simply reach into their respective bags of actors' tricks and entertain us with style. Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Gene Siskel Chicago Tribune The star-studded cast... plays out its intricate story with such relish that the effect of all the confusion is not unlike that of an Agatha Christie story in which we can't wait for the final showdown. Rated: 3/4 Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Scott Cain Atlanta Journal-Constitution Despite the best efforts of the supporting cast, there is little reason to see "Jigsaw Man" except for Caine and Olivier. Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Stephen Hunter Baltimore Sun It is so complex that it makes virtually no sense the first time through. Yet it is not good enough to warrant a second viewing. Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Lou Cedrone Baltimore Sun "Jigsaw Man" is a film you really have to pursue, and even when you do, even when you pick up all that is there, the plot is so complicated it is almost tiring. Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Candice Russell South Florida Sun-Sentinel [A] decidedly mediocre, frequently stupid spy thriller... Rated: 2/4 Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Olivier was good. Caine's Russia accent was laughable and ruined the whole experience. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I've watched a lot of espionage thrillers in my time and I live in the hope that one of them will have a plot that I can understand. This one doesn't help. A lot of stuff is going on but it's just too complex. A shame because of the star-studded cast. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Boneyard L This is a cold war thriller whose primary sin is being boring, which is a death knell to the genre. The plot is basically fine, a standard cold war espionage story, and the acting is fine, standard British fare of the era. There isn't anything special about it, and I may have been unfortunate to recently review Funeral in Berlin but there's nothing here that Funeral in Berlin didn't do better. Closest comparison: It's like Face/Off made by the BBC. Setting: Political Thriller Plot: Political Thriller Tone: Drama Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/18/20 Full Review laurie s Not Young's nor Olivier's nor Caine's finest hour. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member ...and I'm being generous. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Rather scarey that some of the top actors of the time appeared in it - either they did it for a favour or they were blackmailed into it!
