Jay Carr Boston Globe Freed of the need to work at real characterization, Olivier and Caine, in their different ways, simply reach into their respective bags of actors' tricks and entertain us with style. Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Gene Siskel Chicago Tribune The star-studded cast... plays out its intricate story with such relish that the effect of all the confusion is not unlike that of an Agatha Christie story in which we can't wait for the final showdown. Rated: 3/4 Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Scott Cain Atlanta Journal-Constitution Despite the best efforts of the supporting cast, there is little reason to see "Jigsaw Man" except for Caine and Olivier. Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Stephen Hunter Baltimore Sun It is so complex that it makes virtually no sense the first time through. Yet it is not good enough to warrant a second viewing. Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Lou Cedrone Baltimore Sun "Jigsaw Man" is a film you really have to pursue, and even when you do, even when you pick up all that is there, the plot is so complicated it is almost tiring. Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Candice Russell South Florida Sun-Sentinel [A] decidedly mediocre, frequently stupid spy thriller... Rated: 2/4 Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Blu B It's Horrifcally Bad. Terrance Young wtf happened to you...The direction is just terrible and lifeless. If you turned the sound off on this and visually had to follow it, I don't think a normal person would have a clue what is happening. besides the final 10 minutes or so, it's just mostly people standing around talking all the time with boring lines. The acting is terrible overall. Olivier is probably the best thing here but even he isn't that good. Everyone is just saying lines emotionless with hardly any expression and it's shot in the most visually boring way possible. Nothing about this is memorable not even Caine or Olivier. The cinematography is just as bad. The music is just boring forgettable 80's stuff. Unfortnately this is probably the best thing about it. The editing and "pacing" are horrific here. It just jumps around almost incoherently setting up some kind of spy in disguise kind of plot with a girl caught in the middle for some reason that I have no idea why. And the ending chase and all I have no idea why it's happening because it's so incoherent and boring and lifeless. Stay Away from this. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/25 Full Review Audience Member Olivier was good. Caine's Russia accent was laughable and ruined the whole experience. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I've watched a lot of espionage thrillers in my time and I live in the hope that one of them will have a plot that I can understand. This one doesn't help. A lot of stuff is going on but it's just too complex. A shame because of the star-studded cast. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member ...and I'm being generous. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Rather scarey that some of the top actors of the time appeared in it - either they did it for a favour or they were blackmailed into it! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Cheap looking spy movie but at the same time it has an endearing grittiness to it.
