Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express In the way Jogi uses Bollywoodian melodrama as its chief operating instrument, it serves only to undercut the tragedy, making it less than it was. Rated: 1.5/5 Sep 20, 2022 Full Review Anupama Chopra Film Companion The film’s inherent sincerity sees it through the clunky stretches. And Diljit remains eminently watchable. Sep 19, 2022 Full Review Tatsam Mukherjee Firstpost Jogi wants to believe it is a morally courageous film. It’s not. In fact, this is the kind of convenient and vicious “political” film that wants nothing to do with truth, except peddle its own agenda. Rated: 1/5 Oct 5, 2022 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Director Abbas Ali Zafar handles the logistical difficulty of mass violence skillfully. But too often it feels as if the director doesn't trust the material. Rated: 3/5 Sep 28, 2022 Full Review Rahul Desai Film Companion Exploring a historical tragedy through the narrow lens of a friendship drama is not the problem; constricting that tragedy to the lens is. It’s a pity, because until that final act, Jogi seemed like an unusually perceptive film... Sep 20, 2022 Full Review Lori C. Ready Steady Cut The only downfall is the excessive use of flashbacks (and flashbacks within the flashbacks). Removing those entirely and cutting the run-time a little would have elevated it to a distinguished level of filmmaking. Rated: 4/5 Sep 20, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Beared R This movie does a spectacular job at illustrating the Sikh Genocide of 1984. It includes everything you would expect from a Netflix Movie. Suspense, Emotion, and a heart-warming story. Throughout the movie, the audience was truly able to feel how terrifying and hateful the violent hindu supremacists were. It was truly outrageous to see the igorance and disregard of the Indian Government and hate of the Indian nation. As a historian working for the New York Historical Society, I was appalled to view how such atrocities were committed against the Sikh Community of India and were never acknowledged. This movie was highly informative and suspenseful. I hope to see more movies regarding the Sikh Genocide from Netflix. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/22/23 Full Review J G Jogi did a great job at capturing the emotions of government funded genocide against the Sikhs in 84. The acting, directing and writing were well done especially considering the quality of movies that usually come out of Bollywood. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/08/22 Full Review Kajal J Def worth watching, diljit killed it!!! Amazing movie!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/23/22 Full Review mirza m 'Jogi' is an engaging and impactful hard-hitting drama bolstered by Diljit Dosanjh's outstanding performance.
