Lindy is a beautiful, sardonically-funny woman with a painful secret: Due to a lifelong, rare neurological disorder, she experiences sporadic rage-filled, murderous impulses that can only be stopped when she shocks herself with a special electrode device. Unable to find love and connection in a world that fears her bizarre condition, she finally trusts a man long enough to fall in love, only to find him murdered the next day. Heartbroken and enraged, she embarks on a revenge-filled mission to find his killer, while also being pursued by the police as the crime’s prime suspect.

"Jolt" isn't prestige cinema, but it is far smarter than its exploitation trappings. Wexler and Beckinsale truly make a meal of the gender flip that is sending a woman to wreak bloody havoc in revenge for the murder of a sweet, nerdy hunk.

I watched this back when this movie came out. I didn't think it was all that bad. Not because I'm obsessed with Kate Beckinsale. But the action was OK and yes the plot was dumb but Kate looked good doing it.

I don't know why the reviews were so poor, when I compare it to the last half dozen movies I watched, I love this so much better. I at least found it extremely entertaining and fun. Frankly I find strong protagonists female Heroes extremely attractive.:-) I consider this a not to miss movie. Update I just watched this for the 4th time, and I so freaking love this movie. There are a lot of movies that I watch, trust me I doubt there's anyone that watches more than movies than I do I embarrassly admit. I one time belong to a very prestigious actors organization in my early youth which I didn't end up pursuing. However I still love movies just as much and this one gives me so much pleasure and I couldn't adore any actress as much as I do Kate on this film.
