Lucy M Amazingly fascinating look at an incredibly important historical figure. Great flow. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/19 Full Review Audience Member Great movie! Sex isnt the only thing that cells, news sells too, fake and real news. Has anyone at Fox news won a Pulitzer prize for best fake news? Now we know the origin of real news and fake news and the motivation behind each one,.... $$$$. Spoiler alert: I wonder if stress from working too hard had anything to do with Joseph Pulitzer losing his vision. If you dont get to the theater to watch this movie, set your DVR to record it on PBS and then come back here and rate it yourself. Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) A fairly classically composed documentary about [Joseph Pulitzer]. Sep 20, 2019 Full Review John Anderson Wall Street Journal By definition hagiographic. But it's not afraid to acknowledge Pulitzer's talent for making enemies on the level of a Teddy Roosevelt. Or that he was a somewhat obnoxious personality. Apr 15, 2019 Full Review Leonard Maltin leonardmaltin.com Joseph Pulitzer was a social reformer and a scandal-monger at the same time. That his name lives on as a synonym for excellence in journalism is a great tribute and, as we learn from this excellent documentary, a great irony Mar 8, 2019 Full Review Neely Swanson Easy Reader (California) Surely the man who won the quintessential battle for the first amendment deserves better. Mar 4, 2019 Full Review Louis Proyect Counterpunch.org Newspapers have been going downhill ever since the days of "yellow journalism" but this film about one of its masters demonstrates that documentaries are better than ever.
