dave d Bobcat Goldthwait and Dana Gould have an undeniable comic chemistry as they tell their mostly hilarious stories on stage and off. It's essentially a stand up special, but it's really well edited and spliced together as Goldthwait uses footage from various routines. They also combine archival videos from their early comedic appearances to give context to the stories. These two come off authentic and lovely and the laugh ratio is out of this world! Final Score: 9/10 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Incredibly funny and heartwarming. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Dana and Bobcat masterfully weave the past, the present and the crazy in a delightful way. I was lucky enough to see the original show at Largo and now again to see them present it at Largo. The crowd roared with laughter at the movie as did I. A really fun ride, full of joy and also very touching. A++++ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Matt Zoller Seitz RogerEbert.com A mostly likable effort, but it doesn't quite feel like a self-contained movie with a shape and a discernible point; it's more of a collection of material arranged in a way that more or less makes sense. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 29, 2021 Full Review Elizabeth Weitzman TheWrap This shambly documentary's considerable charms come from its deceptively low-key approach. Oct 28, 2021 Full Review Joe Leydon Variety "Goldthwait and Gould prove to be engaging traveling companions offstage and amusing performers in the spotlight throughout "Joy Ride." Oct 28, 2021 Full Review Dan Mecca The Film Stage Joy Ride is the perfect example of "less is more." One imagines there could be a three-hour cut of these adventures, but who needs that? This feels like the best bits from the bunch, and Goldthwait is economical in his pacing. Rated: B Oct 29, 2021 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation Kind of the anti-Chapelle stand-up documentary...there's a warmth and generosity of spirit in their work here. Rated: 3/4 Oct 28, 2021 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com It's a charming film with some big laughs. Rated: B+ Oct 27, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
