When a woman was brutally murdered by her husband in her house, she placed a Ju-on, or "curse grudge," on the home. Now anyone who enters the building is doomed to face a horrible death. At least, that's the urban legend that a television crew is investigating. But TV host Tomoka Miura (Chiharu Niiyama) and actress Kyoko Harase (Noriko Sakai) soon discover that the story isn't just a legend. They're being haunted by a terrifying child-like ghost, and everyone on the crew is turning up dead.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

The film grows more repetitive as it goes on, and as a result, the scares lessen.

MasaHiro X By far the most solid entry into the Ju-On film series, the creative feel of Ju-On: The Curse & the added cinematography of Ju-On: The Grudge make this feel like what Takashi Shimizu set out to do with Ju-On: The Grudge… This film is downright nightmare fuel, scares are top notch, the best they've ever been, the film itself carries a spooky feel and amps up during the final half. The ending is a serious shocking revelation, Ju-On wouldn't be what it is today without this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review robert p Not as Good as the first one still has plenty of scares!!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Alot better then the remake Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Agghiacciante e molto intrigante! Lo stile di recitazione è un po' stereotipato, ma ci si può sorvolare. Comunque, in fatto di horror, il Giappone non delude mai!
