Audience Member This was rather boring and a lazy attempt at a vengeance movie. Not as good as I Spit on Your Grave and rather cruel towards the one guy who actually did try to help. Too much nudity even for the kind of movie it is. In the end, it didn't really make much sense at all either. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Landon J This is totally a knockoff of I Spit On Your Grave. So by far not original and not as good. Stolen thunder and the meat of the plot is a near copy. It can be brutal and gory at times as it follows a seemingly timid young woman that gets gang raped. She gradually evolves and becomes an unhinged serial killer thats cold as ice. Its about "therapy", revenge, a sadistic group and its pretty dark. Weird as ever at points as well. Not for everyone Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/20 Full Review Audience Member Very generic and boring. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Jordan J I would've give it a zero, but you can't. Absolutely awful film, laughable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/10/17 Full Review Audience Member a woman takes up an unorthodox way of therapy after an earlier traumatic experience Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Has lots of style and atmosphere, but not enough substance. Rob Hunter Film School Rejects It isn't a game-changer in its chosen sub-genre, but it's a solid entry that understands the desire for a more entertaining darkness. Oct 30, 2015 Full Review Glenn Lovell CinemaDope ... studied and stylish -- in a very self-conscious way ... We've seen it all before, in 'Ms .45,' 'Basic Instinct' and other feminist revenge fantasies. Rated: 3/4 Oct 25, 2015 Full Review Maitland McDonagh Film Journal International Julia does put a small spin on the by-now well-worn [rape revenge] formula[...] But ultimately that's not enough to elevate Julia above its genre roots. Oct 22, 2015 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation Lurid, bloody and generic. Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 22, 2015 Full Review Fred Topel CraveOnline A slow burn thriller anchored by a breathtaking performance by Williams. It's got the visceral moments but makes you think bigger than a viscerally satisfying revenge. That makes it a powerful movie regardless of genre. Oct 26, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews
