A woman in her 30s decides to give up her safe suburban life to pursue her dreams. Julie is a stay-at-home mom tired of life's everyday doldrums. She is a voracious reader of science magazines and is inspired to pursue her GED, but her husband disapproves and Julie kicks him out. Her best friend Claire supports her decision, and they eventually begin a romantic relationship. Julie must deal with the repercussions on her friends and family as a result of her decision to aspire for more.
