Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand This direct-to-disc animate feature continues to develop a distinctive chemistry of DC heroes, with Jason O’Mara’s grim, humorless Batman and Jerry O’Connell’s Superman, a gentle god of a hero... as the two foundations of the new team. Isaac E The first miss of the DCAMU so far. It’s still definitely not bad, but it had pretty easily the weakest story and writing out of the four I’ve seen so far. The main problem is that it tries to juggle two stories at once with a runtime of barely over an hour. You’ve got the Aquaman origin story, which I found somewhat interesting, and then the whole Justice League plot revolving around finding the Atlanteans after a mysterious submarine incident. What was really weird is that out of the two, the Justice League story was the one that felt tacked on. I think it’s incredibly obvious that this would have worked significantly better as a solo Aquaman story. None of the Justice League characters have anything interesting to do the entire movie. Like seriously, what was the point of them being in the movie? Sure, they have stuff to do, but none of it really has significant impact on the story until the third act. Like I stated before, Aquaman’s origin story here is somewhat intriguing, but definitely gets shortchanged because of stuff I just previously mentioned. There are many aspects of it that should be compelling, but none of them get nearly enough development to feel satisfying. There are several payoff moments that just don’t have any impact at all. I was honestly kind of bored too until the third act. Funny enough though, the third act was probably the worst part of this movie writing wise. It’s the part that gives off the biggest “let’s make this a Justice League movie when it really isn’t” kind of feel. It also has an almost hilariously underwhelming conclusion too. The writing of this movie was just too generic, boring, and uninspiring to make it a good movie. It had its moments with its action scenes, and I honestly loved hearing Matt Lanter as Aquaman being a big Clone Wars fan, but I definitely won’t remember this movie very well in the future. I am also really not digging this version of Superman so far. Content: Should be PG-13 Intense Stuff: 5/10 Language: 4/10 Sex and Nudity: 3/10 Violence and Gore: 6/10 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review Saksham A This movie just feels like a wasted potential. The action sequences were really mid and the every character was just cringy. Still holds well as An interesting take on DC character arcs. Action set pieces are very well animated, paces pretty quick, and Villian motives have emotional gravity. Many hero’s get their moment to shine, but Arthur Curry and the Mercy Reef, as well as Metropolis, take center stage for king of Atlantis. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review Clone M Real movie, with Real and ORIGINAIS carachteres !!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review matthias s "Justice League: Throne of Atlantis" is an average animated film that didn't quite live up to its potential. While it had some visually stunning moments and entertaining fight scenes, the lack of a compelling storyline and forgettable characters left me feeling underwhelmed. I would recommend this film to die-hard DC fans, but others may want to skip it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
