Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Perhaps the filmmaker should have spent more time behind the camera instead of front and center, as he observes a host of Jewish rituals and traditions and chats with rabbis, congregants, scholars and devout members of his extended family. Sep 4, 2014 Full Review Andy Webster New York Times "Kabbalah Me," which distinguishes between "narrow consciousness" and "expanded consciousness," merely walks the middle ground. Aug 21, 2014 Full Review Kate Erbland The Dissolve Kabbalah Me is most satisfying as a personal artifact that traces Bram's quest, bumps and all, and it stumbles when it attempts to lay on educational aspects. Rated: 3.0/5.0 Aug 21, 2014 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It would be nearly impossible to not be moved by Bram's growing knowledge, devotion, and growth from his journey into Kabbalah. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 13, 2020 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Amusing, much like its title, but often shallow and incomplete. Rated: 5.5/10 Sep 1, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Really liked the honesty of someone searching for meaning in their life, but also willfully constrained by previous choices. If Kabbalah is truly the teaching of the meaning of life, can one receive this understanding while maintaining a personal identity and/or without being observant? I thought this was a terrific journey. Not once did I feel that I was preached to - something that had to have been very difficult for the producers to achieve. Documentaries like these often contain far more footage than can make the cut. I hope there will be opportunities to see this additional footage.
