Sashidhar Adivi Filmfare Despite several underdeveloped characters, the film finds its soul towards mid-way and leads to an emotionally satisfying climax. But with tighter writing and more impactful dialogue, the film could have reached greater heights. In striving for grandeur, it forgets to tell the story that matters. Jun 27, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Raghavendra Vishnu’s career best and Prabahas entry is ultimate as expected 👏👏 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/25 Full Review Lucky01 Kannapa Movie Review "Kannapa" is meant to be a devotional film about history and mythology, but it has many problems that make it disappointing. The child character, played by Vishnu's son, has a Western accent that feels odd for the time period. The costumes, especially the heroine's, look too modern for a story set in the 2nd century. The action scenes also feel like they belong in a modern movie, not an ancient one. The visual effects and CGI are poor and don't create a believable world. In the second half, the lighting is confusing, with scenes suddenly changing from day to night. Prabhas' cameo is exciting but feels wasted and doesn't add much to the story. For a devotional movie, the romance and songs with the heroine seem out of place and take away from the spiritual focus. The fight scenes don't match the historical setting, which makes them less impactful. The music is good in the devotional songs, but the background score starts and stops suddenly, shifting between action and romance without smooth transitions. The director made mistakes, with noticeable errors in the flow of scenes. The climax is somewhat satisfying, but not enough to save the movie. The film tries to tell a historical and mythological story but seems to lack proper research or understanding of the subject.
